Having been raised on a farm in beautiful Western Colorado, it was
in the natural order of things that Sherry began sewing at a very
early age, and began making her own clothing at age twelve.
Having demonstrated an interest and aptitude for art, her parents
provided instruction. As time passed she continued to study various
forms of art, however she married at an early age before obtaining
her degree. She continued private instruction in painting with
various popular artists.
After the death of her first husband and with two small children to
raise, Sherry married into a second generation sheep ranching
family, now into it's third generation of Colorado Sheepmen.

Christmas has always been a special time of year for her and became even more important as her children came along. She
first involved herself in Art Dolls by creating Santa's and elves, then began creating other figuratives. Now her galleries
include, American Indian portrait dolls, Angels, Fairies, Character Dolls, her Ranch Hands, and Holliday Collectables.
Sherry is a member of American Art Doll Association, and the Professional Doll Makers Guild. Many of the Art Doll
Figuratives you will see on her website have won awards in competition. Photographs of her figuratives have been
published in Dolls Magazine, Art Doll Quarterly, Contemporary Doll Collectors, and other magazines.

Years passed, the children grew to adulthood, and Sherry continued to study and indulge her artistic side with the
encouragement of her husband, Paul. As she had enjoyed the classes in sculpting while attending school years before, and
not having the finances to purchase one of the beautiful Santa's pictured in the magazines, Sherry decided to make her own.
Her journey into the world of the Art Doll began.
Sherry considers herself mostly self taught in sculpting although the instruction received from Judith Klawitter, and others
has been invaluable, and has been incorporated into her own style. Sherry constantly strives to refine techniques. A
never ending process. A multi-talented artist, Sherry is a landscape and animal painter, a stained glass artist and an
Art Doll artist. She has been creating dressed, sculpted Art Dolls for fourteen years.
